Xavier White is the School of Health and Social Care, LSBU first ever artist in residence. His period of activity is now coming to an end which provides opportunity to auction his art work that celebrates and makes reference to the compassion, resilience and courage of those who have experience the NHS and recovery.
Xavier White is the School of Health and Social Care, LSBU first ever artist in residence. His period of activity is now coming to an end which provides opportunity to auction his art work that celebrates and makes reference to the compassion, resilience and courage of those who have experience the NHS and recovery.
Over his residency, Xavier has had a number of exhibitions based on a wide range of issues around care and consciousness. These have drawn people into the University from local community groups, as well as benefited staff and students experience of the University as a mind expanding opportunity.
He has also facilitated several art based workshops, such as the ‘Carers Shield’ and ‘Patient story cube’ workshops with nursing students from the UK and abroad to help them draw strength from in their personal attributes for enhancing their experience of professional caring responsibilities.
His time at LSBU has been well documented with exhibition catalogues and films that offer insight into his own personal rehabilitation from a near fatal head injury.
The auction brings a level of interaction, proactive engagement with his art works, that provides a fitting exchange as he moves onto new adventures with his ongoing links at South London and the Maudsley, and Kings College Hospital London.
