Outsider artist and brain trauma survivor Xavier White, launches a modern day 'orrery' art installation to help pressurize world leaders, gathering at the COP26 United Nations climate change conference, to compel them to seek solutions to the global climate crisis.
Conference Of Parties (COP) 26 WANE Orrery in the conference room at Museum Of The Mind.
The installation is based on ancient orrery, as a model of the solar system and future’s forecasting tool, re-assembling a wartime 'operations room', complete with large-scale global map surrounded by a series of ‘Worry Beads’ represented as green glass engraved globes/spheres.

Xavier, who uses recycled materials, said: 'After my traumatic accident 30 years ago it was a combination of the Maudsley Hospital and a slow-starting practice of art that helped my recovery, in piecing my life back together again, I am using my art now to also help recover and nurse the earth. Like many I'm anxious that our political leaders final grasp the nettle this year. The Earth’s agenda just won't wait for humanity.

Xavier spent three years in Glasgow following his immediate recovery where he was enabled to focus on his rehabilitation through cycling, creative projects and attending a drawing class at the Charles Rennie Macintosh art school.
